Safe & Sound

Monday evening I finally arrived in Japan :)
An emotional trip to the airport, a flight from Cedar Rapids to Detroit, two hour layover, a 14 hour plane ride to Osaka, a half hour in customs, two one hour train rides to Okayama, one car ride & 7 flights of stairs brought me right to my new front door. I'm exhausted, but i'm here.
Safe & sound. Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts & prayers :)
I promise a longer blog & pictures are coming soon. First, I have to sleep. For a long, long time.

oh yea, ps - my websites are now in Japanese. Apparently my computer knows it's location and all of the links, instructions, directions, urls, and whatnot are in Japanese. Obviously, I can't read that. So when I go to post this blog I'm hoping that I click on the correct buttons, but I'm not 100% sure. If this looks super strange when I post it, it's because I don't know what I'm doing!! :)

My New Home ...

I don't always have the ambition to write something enlightening. I'm often rather sarcastic or exaggerative & I'm conscious of the fact that it can be hard convey those particular elements when writing. So if, on occasion, I only post pictures - deal.

I do have more pictures of my new apartment. The building is brand new. I will be the first tenant in apartment 705. The security is supposed to be impressive - hand scanning for entry and whatnot. I've been told that the location is very convenient. Apparently close to a grocery store, book store (thank goodness), a movie theater, and the train station (which I will be riding to work daily). You can see some buildings in the exterior pictures. I'll leave it up to interpretation. :)
The view from my terrace:

And the inside ...

And the bathroom:

Any opinions on whether or not that is a tv in the bathtub?

until next time... sayonara xoxo
